At Pathways Coaching, we use a brief, solution-focused and evidence-based approach to help you identify your goals and strategies to achieve them.
Our approach combines theory and strategies from coaching psychology, positive psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mind-Body Therapy to help individuals overcome resistance to change, achieve their goals and flourish in their lives.
What is Coaching Psychology?
- Coaching Psychology involves the application of the research, theory and practice of the behavioural science of psychology to the enhancement of life experience, work performance and personal growth of mentally healthy people. It supports people in developing insight and skills by tapping their own inner resources and building a happier, more successful or satisfying life that is of value to them.
What is Positive Psychology?
- Positive psychology involves the promotion of well-being and the creation of a satisfying life filled with meaning, pleasure, engagement, positive relationships and accomplishment. It is about helping people go beyond having a ‘satisfying’ life to a ‘flourishing’ life and reach an optimal level of functioning.
What is ACT?
- ACT focuses on helping people to behave more consistently with their own values and apply mindfulness and acceptance skills to their responses to difficult or challenging situations, maximising their potential for a rich, full and meaningful life.
What is Mind-Body Therapy?
- Mind-body therapy is based on the increasing evidence of a relationship between the mind and the body. It focuses on using our thoughts and emotions to influence our psychological and physical health and well-being and aims to reduce the prolonged release of stress hormones in the body so that the immune system is better able to fight off disease.
